What to reply instead of “k” or “ok” at work

Short answer: say “Sounds good. I'll take it from here.”

DON'T SAY
“k”
SAY THIS
“Sounds good. I'll take it from here.”
A full sentence avoids reading as annoyed.

When to use it

Use it when you're acknowledging a message or a decision, especially from your manager or someone you don't know well. A short full sentence confirms you understood and what happens next. A single letter can read as curt or annoyed.

Example

Manager: “Client approved the second version.”

You: “Sounds good. I'll take it from here.”

In an email or Slack message

On Slack, an emoji reaction works for simple acknowledgments. When the message needs action, add a line: “Got it. I'll send the final files by noon.”

When you need a decision, not open-ended input.
